Alright I admit it…I stole the title from the beautiful bride to be.  She made the quip while admiring the pretty fall colors this evening.  I am so looking forward to their wedding in June.  Thanks for coming out tonight guys!

I love this kid.  I took his pictures a long long while ago.  That day he was a huge ball of energy and kept me on my toes.  Today (as he approaches his fourth birthday) he is such a great listener.  My kiddos who are just two months younger don’t listen to me at all when I do their pictures, so this was a breath of fresh air.  Although he is a great listener and did everything I said, “A” negotiated everything!

Me: I want you to stand right here
A: How about I stand here?
Me: Fine, first we’ll take some pictures here and then you can stand there
A: ok!

Me: Sit right here
A: I dont’ want to sit there
Me: How about you sit there just until I count to 3, then you can get up
A: count to 2!

Well, you get the idea.  In the end this session went super fast because he was so good.  After we said our goodbyes I looked at the clock and was amazed  with quickly it went!

This little cutie just turned two.  The thing with two year olds is that they are fast!  This translates into running from the camera and results in a tired photographer, lol.  She did manage to still still for a few nano seconds for some great shots.

Baby brother got in the action too.  He looks so different from the last time I saw him!

And finally, the whole gang!  (Side note for other photogs, an arm chair in the park may draw attention from bicycle cops…be sure to have your permits on hand!)

This evening I went to the El Macero golf course for a fun session with this cute little girl and her family.  Brother was asleep when I got there so “M” dressed up, grabbed her purse and lip gloss and took off!

Mom and dad are totally cute.

Finally baby brother woke up just in time for some family shots

Thanks guys!  :)

This family is so cute…and fun!  They wanted candid type photos; basically images of the three of them just enjoying each other.  I LOVE these types of portraits…the ones where the subjects are seemingly oblivious to the camera.  They were so relaxed and comfortable in front of my glass.  Thanks for the great session guys!

Ok…so we did do a few “smile at the camera” pictures

But the rest…

The day started out with a morning session at the arboretum.  It was freezing cold and totally foggy.  Little man was a champ and put up with the cold until fingers started to turn blue (mine anyway!).

Later that afternoon I met up with a friend of my boys from preschool.  The goal was to get family portraits, but he is such a performer I took a few on his own so he’d settle down for the family shots.

This is one of his rock star poses

Hey look…it worked!

This morning I woke to blue skies, relieved because the forecast had called for 100% chance of rain and I had a session in that evening.  With a quick email exchange we confirmed that things were still on.  As the day grew on the skies started to get darker and darker, before it started to down right pour.  Disappointed I gave a call to figure out the game plan.  Because my schedule is packed we decided to forge ahead with a change of venue.  Old Sacramento is perfect for days like these…The wooden sidewalks are all covered so we can stay dry and take advantage of the awesome lighting.  In the end the clouds broke just before our session began and the rest of the afternoon was gorgeous.  So here you are…the session that almost wasn’t.

The last round of mini sessions was a success!  Thanks to all the families who came out on saturday.

I wont lie…the last family of the day was the most difficult.  They were a photographer’s worst nightmare!  Don’t worry…I can say this because the family was my own!  In the end (and after a lot of photoshopping, lol) I did get a keeper of the four of us.  I’m not going to show it.  Hey, I need to keep the surprise for my own holiday cards!  I will share my favorite of the day though.  :)
