I spent the majority of Memorial Day weekend enjoying the scenic views of South Lake Tahoe.  I didn’t meet the bride and groom before the big day…I was contracted by the bride’s dad about 6 weeks before.  So imagine my surprise when I was greeted by the groom with a huge hug and a “I know you!”  Turns out I went to high school with them, graduating the year before!  It was a fun day at a location that can’t be beat!

I am anything but a morning person.  I let my boys sneak into bed with me every morning despite their constant squirming just so I can have a few more minutes before I have to face the day.  So when my engagement session with this happy couple was rescheduled due to rain and there was no possible way to squeeze another one in at a decent time of day before they had to go back home to San Diego there was only one solution…a 7am session before I headed up the hill for a weekend in Lake Tahoe.  I was surprised and relieved when they agreed to this ungodly time without hesitation.  Thanks for waking up early for me guys!!

If this doesn’t make you smile I don’t know what will!

Katherine and Kevin’s wedding at The River Mill in French Camp was gorgeous!  The grounds are meticulously maintained and the historic old chicory mill is a great backdrop.  The ceremony was in the morning and I’ll be honest in revealing that I was a bit nervous.  The actual location where the ceremony was held, while gorgeous, also had a photographers worst enemy…dappled light!  In the end everything came out beautifully…so lovely in fact that Im mostly going to blog pictures from the ceremony (which I normally don’t do!).  So…enjoy!

Meet the lovely bride!

And of course the groom

I am so in love with her sideways glances!

Last night I spent the evening photographing a very special couple.  I’ve known Josh for YEARS and was honored when he asked me to photograph their wedding at the lovely historical Hotel Woodland.  Their friends and family have so much character which made for a great evening (and a tough time narrowing pictures down for these teasers).  So sit back and enjoy!

Josh’s daughter is the cutest thing ever.  I could photograph her all day!

Meghan and Josh had a dessert table and originally wasn’t going to have a wedding cake.  They  changed their minds days before and ordered this sight unseen from Timothy’s Bakery.  Gorgeous!

Let me just say, this is the coolest grandma ever!!

Finally I want to give a shout out to Josh of Firehouse Entertainment…aka DJ/MC extraordinaire!  He kept things moving along and on schedule, didn’t have the music blaring (a complaint I often hear at weddings) and was extremely well organized.  Check him out!

Yesterday afternoon I spent a few hours in Roseville photographing this future little lady killer.  And while the session took a while he was so sweet and mellow and adorable.  I got to play around and experiment a little, resulting in some great shots.  It was so nice to meet you little man!

Tattoos and sweet babies are such a good mix!

This happy couple is getting married in only a little over 2 short weeks!  Busy schedules and nasty weather didn’t allow us to finally have our session until recently.  Enjoy guys!

I had another fun boudoir session this afternoon with one of my future brides.  She gave me permission to post a few non face shots.  Although these shots are pretty benign, to keep with the “family friendly” nature of this blog, click on the link HERE to view!

I’ve had easy newborns, and I’ve had ones on the more difficult side.  I’ve always walked away however with a full gallery of images.  Unfortunately yesterday I finally met my match!  This 8 day old cutie has already moved past the sleepy newborn stage and on to the constantly nursing, fighting sleep stage!  I did get a few cute shots and look forward with giving it another go in a few months.
