Happy Birthday little man!  I can’t believe I’ve been photographing you since before you were born!  Hope you had lots of cupcakes and your parents spoiled you rotten today!

I LOVE doing running shots at the my sessions.  It loosens the kids up and helps them run off some energy…so I tend to do them a lot.  Especially with my newer walkers.  That being said, I think the below shot is my favorite one to date.  Its almost straight out of Where the Wild Things are!

These three girls (a cousin and two sisters) are so cute!  Free flowing with the smiles and full of energy!

Oh my goodness, look at these smiles!  They are so infectious that you can’t help but smile too!

And just because I couldn’t resist this face…

A photographer’s biggest challenge (at least in my case) is photographing their own family.  The kids, used to a camera always in their face, and turn a deaf ear and completely tune out the calls of the frustrated mommytog.  So what do we do?  Call in reinforcements!  Meet Kimberly of Kimberly Dunn Photography.  I’ve been photographing her family for a couple of years now.  They have added a member to the group since their last family session so its time for an update.  Thanks Kimberly!

Look at this two cuties!  I love her curly hair and his bright blue eyes!  They were the sweetest things and so easy to smile!  Thanks for playing with me Monday night guys!

Sunday I drove out to Napa for a session with these cute newly weds.  They were united a few months ago but didn’t have a photographer…so they asked me to come out and take some portraits of them!

Of course we can’t forget their little man.  He ran all over the place!

…And a shot of their rings.

Look at these chubby cheeks!  Just look!  Little man was so stinkin’ cute and incredibly smiley.

Big brother was just as cute…but not so sure of me.  We finished up the evening with running around in the backyard…which is a lot more fun when you are filled with energy!

Last night’s session was with the winners of the big contest I held in January.  They bagged themselves a free session and $100 in prints.  I’ve been shooting them for years (they were one of my first families) and its been fun to see them grow!  Thanks for coming out last night guys!

I generally like to have my sessions shortly before the sun starts to set.  The lighting is super nice and soft at this time of day.  Unfortunately during the summer this sometimes mean shooting close to, or after bedtime for my littlest clients.  Luckily this little sweetie was really easy to work with.  Too cute!
