Just a quick 2 from my maternity session on friday. I can’t wait until baby boy is born. Why? Because I’ll be there for his birth! It will be such an awesome experience. For now…enjoy!

This family is so cute…and fun! They wanted candid type photos; basically images of the three of them just enjoying each other. I LOVE these types of portraits…the ones where the subjects are seemingly oblivious to the camera. They were so relaxed and comfortable in front of my glass. Thanks for the great session guys!
Ok…so we did do a few “smile at the camera” pictures

But the rest…

The day started out with a morning session at the arboretum. It was freezing cold and totally foggy. Little man was a champ and put up with the cold until fingers started to turn blue (mine anyway!).

Later that afternoon I met up with a friend of my boys from preschool. The goal was to get family portraits, but he is such a performer I took a few on his own so he’d settle down for the family shots.

This is one of his rock star poses

Hey look…it worked!

This morning I woke to blue skies, relieved because the forecast had called for 100% chance of rain and I had a session in that evening. With a quick email exchange we confirmed that things were still on. As the day grew on the skies started to get darker and darker, before it started to down right pour. Disappointed I gave a call to figure out the game plan. Because my schedule is packed we decided to forge ahead with a change of venue. Old Sacramento is perfect for days like these…The wooden sidewalks are all covered so we can stay dry and take advantage of the awesome lighting. In the end the clouds broke just before our session began and the rest of the afternoon was gorgeous. So here you are…the session that almost wasn’t.

The last round of mini sessions was a success! Thanks to all the families who came out on saturday.

I wont lie…the last family of the day was the most difficult. They were a photographer’s worst nightmare! Don’t worry…I can say this because the family was my own! In the end (and after a lot of photoshopping, lol) I did get a keeper of the four of us. I’m not going to show it. Hey, I need to keep the surprise for my own holiday cards! I will share my favorite of the day though.

Last night I met up with a special client…special because she was one of the first clients I ever had. It was so great to see you again and watch your family grow!

This one cracks me up because it took me three times to spell Robert’s name right. Yup…three…don’t find the fact that my dad is named Robert and one of my boys claims it as a middle name. I used to be blond as a kid…thats my excuse.

Getting a little artsy fartsy

Beautiful right?

The proud big sis

More from my awesome maternity session on friday!

We went out to a field behind the middle school to take advantage of the awesome sun set. This was just after it went down.

These were after the sun had been down a good 20-30 minutes…check out those colors! Wild!!

Last night I met this expectant mama in Winters for a maternity session. She informed me beforehand that I could do whatever I want..what every photographer wants to hear! Can you believe this is baby #4? Just look at that perfect baby bump!!

My editing style is usually pretty clean…but sometimes its fun to plan around. These are a bit urbanized.

Thanks for coming all the way out to Winters! I can’t wait to see your little one!!
This evening I met up with the lucky winners of the penny contest I had a while back. We met at McKinley Park shortly before the sun started to go down to take advantage of the gorgeous light. Thanks so much guys! I can’t wait to meet the little one!
